Whether you’re branching out on your own, adding to your family, starting a new business, or rolling out 1Password to a large company, you can change your account type at any time.

If you have an individual account

  1. Sign in to your account on 1Password.com and click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Click Use 1Password Teams.

Switch to an individual account

  1. Sign in to your account on 1Password.com and click Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Click “Use 1Password by myself”.

To switch to an individual account, you must be the only person using your family account. Learn how to delete a family member’s account.

If you have a team or business account

1password Downgrade Family

If you have a team account, you can upgrade to 1Password Business:

  1. Sign in to your account on 1Password.com and click Billing in the sidebar.
  2. Click 1Password Business.

If you have a team or business account and want to switch to 1Password Families, contact 1Password Support. If you’re the only person using the account, you can switch without contacting support: sign in to your account on 1Password.com, click Settings in the sidebar, and choose the account type you want to switch to.
